Just shortly after taking off, the pilot of the flight JT 610
had requested to return to the Jakarta‘s Soekarno-Hatta airport.
Minutes after that, ground control lost the contact with the plane.
It is believed that it was the time the plane crashed into the
sea.

The officials speculated that the plane has ended up underwater.
“The plane crashed into water about 30m to 40m deep,” Search
and Rescue Agency spokesman Yusuf Latif said. “We’re still
searching for the remains of the plane.”

There is no clear reason known as to what caused a brand new
Boeing 737 MAX 8 to fail and crash into the sea, causing danger to
everyone on-board. There are no news about whether there are any
survivors out of the 189 passengers and cabin crew. It is believed
that 178 adults, two babies and an infant together with two pilots
and five cabin crew members were on a plane at the time of the
accident.

However, personal belongings, believed to belong to the victims
of the crash have resurfaced near the place of the crash. Such
items like ID cards and driver‘s licenses have been found by the
search party.
